Waiting Children: India

Our waiting children in India are typically in good health with normal development; some have minor and/or correctible special needs. All are available due to abandonment and little or no family history is available. MAPS seeks families who are currently I600A approved (prior to April 1, 2008) or I800A approved. However, if you are at the beginning stages of the home study and adoption process, please do not hesitate to contact the India program coordinators to speak more about the waiting children and the India program.

Gender Age Special Need
Boy 22 months

He is a friendly child who responds to attention with a big smile. His overall development is significantly delayed. He has been receiving occupational therapy since October 2008.

Girl 18 months She is a friendly child who interacts well with the other children. She has moderate developmental delay, but is making progress with Gross Motor, Fine Moto and Social & Self-help. An MRI completed in April 2009 showed a focal abnormality (pachygyria) and mesial sclerosis.

Please contact Kate ASAP for information about these two children. We are looking for families with current I600A or I800A approvals.
